Getting Here

BP Surf Hotel is located in Playa Grande, Costa Rica, just two hundred meters away from one of the most consistent surf breaks in the world.  Playa Grande is part of the Las Baulas National Park, home to thousands of leatherback turtles who return to this unspoiled beach year after year to lay their eggs.

Flying to Costa Rica

There are two major airports in Costa Rica; one in San Jose (SJO), and one in Liberia (LIR).  The Liberia airport is only an hour drive from Playa Grande, while SJO is typically a four to five hour drive to Playa Grande.  There is also a very small airport in Tamarindo (TNO), which is only a 30 minute drive from Playa Grande.  A transfer flight from San Jose to Tamarindo typically takes an hour or less.

Rental Car

If you prefer to rent a car, we strongly recommend working with Adobe Rent-a-Car.  They have proven to be the most reliable rental car company time after time.  One of their best services is that they will either pick you up from your location to take you to the rental office, or they will bring a rental car to you.

If you prefer to take a bus from the airport to Playa Grande, we recommend scheduling a transfer with Gray Line.  Grayline will drop you off on the doorstep of your destination, making for a smooth and effortless ride.  Added bonus: their busses are equipped with free Wi-Fi!
